I shot this whilst phoenix were in oz…got so much footage so final edit will take a while but peep this acoustic version of ‘everything is everything’ -which just happens to be my favourite phoenix track.
so this video pretty much came to life because I was having a 5AM whack attack on another project x i have been collecting some amazing super 8 footage that I have been manipulating and experimenting on…oh and because the track is beyond dope.
“Get Like Me” – mcDJ streetmix (i always prefer the mixtape versions of songs) is by one Childish Gambino AKA Donald Glover and is the anthem for his comedy crew’s forth coming film, Mystery Team. I’m never good at giving cliffnotes on people so check don’s wikipedia entry:
Donald Glover is an American television writer and actor, best known for his work as a writer on the NBC series 30 Rock and with the comedy sketch group Derrick Comedy. Starting in the fall of 2009, Glover will be starring in an NBC show called Community alongside Joel McHale and Chevy Chase
Along with the rest of the Derrick Comedy group, Donald finished shooting a feature-length film titled Mystery Team released nationally in October.
Donald also makes music under the moniker ‘mcDJ.’ His music is of the electronic/remix ilk and is often made available for free download via his official site. His style could be compared to that of MF Doom or Girl Talk. He released a new album entitled “Sick Boi” on June 5, 2008 under the name ‘Childish Gambino’, in which he thanks himself.

so the new trailer for ‘wild things’ is suhhhhh much doper than the the first ‘way too much arcade fire’ promo. I remember when we tested like ten gazillion little boys for the role of Max and my pick was an amazing australian kid who has since gone on to do great x great things but spike’s first choice was always the little boy he spotted and chased down the streets of NYC…i’ve gotta’ say spike was en pointe- shawty owns this film! Oh and his name is max in real life, think that sealed the deal:
